Back to Boston

Karter, Lionel and I took a work trip with Craig to Cambridge. We stayed at the Marriott in Somerville... Lionel was an additional charge - not sure why they thought he was the problem. Karter peed on the floor right before he broke the glass in the tub. I guess they deserved the $25 regardless who it was for.
We stayed in a one bedroom hotel room. You get very creative when you need your son to sleep and you still want to stay up past 8. We tucked karter in the corner behind the curtain. He went to bed no problem and we got to watch AI!
I didn't realize how much I missed Boston. Craig and I had so many great memories. Life was so different when you had no one to be responsible for but yourself. We plan on taking many vacations here. I got to see my GCT friends, Julie and Sandra. We all had a dance party in Sandra's apartment to Micheal Jackson's greatest hits dvd - so much fun!

Talking

Megan the speech therapist has come over to work with Karter about 6 times and he has been saying more and more words each week. He seems to really enjoy the time they spend together playing on the floor 2x per week for 30 mins. His vocabulary is:

Mama, Dada, More, Bubbles, Nana, Bye Bye, Hi, Oh Oh, Sit and Boat ... he says these words spontaneously

He repeats or should I say attempts to repeat almost anything you ask him to say. I would say 50% of the time he says it correctly or it sounds similar and the other 50% is a very good attempt but sounds nothing like the word. Megan is impressed with his receptive language and how he can get his point across with his gestures and signs. She said she never saw a child put together a string a gesture together to form a "sentence". Usually kids do just one sign but Karter puts 2 or 3 together to get his point across. Now if he could only use his words to form a sentence.

Since he has felt more comfortable talking he has become so much more social. He doesn't cling to me as much anymore and is so much happier. He gets very proud of himself after saying something!!

David Gray

We drove to CT to see David Gray. He put on a great show as usual. Live music is worth any trip prego or not. There really are nice people out there... I got offered an aisle seat by this random guy. I must of looked really uncomfortable.
