Talking

Megan the speech therapist has come over to work with Karter about 6 times and he has been saying more and more words each week. He seems to really enjoy the time they spend together playing on the floor 2x per week for 30 mins. His vocabulary is:

Mama, Dada, More, Bubbles, Nana, Bye Bye, Hi, Oh Oh, Sit and Boat ... he says these words spontaneously

He repeats or should I say attempts to repeat almost anything you ask him to say. I would say 50% of the time he says it correctly or it sounds similar and the other 50% is a very good attempt but sounds nothing like the word. Megan is impressed with his receptive language and how he can get his point across with his gestures and signs. She said she never saw a child put together a string a gesture together to form a "sentence". Usually kids do just one sign but Karter puts 2 or 3 together to get his point across. Now if he could only use his words to form a sentence.

Since he has felt more comfortable talking he has become so much more social. He doesn't cling to me as much anymore and is so much happier. He gets very proud of himself after saying something!!
